THE DANGERFIELDS   No Respect 'Til Belfast

What a gem!  These boys are as lovely as they are talented - can't get enough of them! Five of their home-grown,  moreish trax: Let's get F*ck*d,  You Suck,  I Believe in Rock'n'Roll,  17 Forever, 1-2-3-Punk.

THE DRONES Temptations of a White Collar Worker EP

I admire this recently reunited '77 Manchester combo, who began at The Electric

Circus alongside BUZZCOCKS and SLAUGHTER & THE DOGS, for being one of the few to fully embrace the '90s DIY scene. This Data Records re-release of a

much-underrated EP is a welcome blast for the likes of me, who thought Bone Idol was their only nugget. There are 4 more - Hard on Me, Lookalikes and the real corkers You'll Lose & anti-monarchy Corgi Crap. Wonderful early punk which gives you the

tingles, following in the vein of EATER, DEAD BOYS, early LURKERS, UK SUBS,

ACTION PACT (somehow) and all the decent, raw and energising classic stuff which gets out those pogo boots.

EASY MEAT Dance with me, Rigsby

Early '80s-influenced oddity with shades of THE DAMNED, JOY DIVISION and      certain moments of Steve Lake and TV Smith. Any song with the line "The bed sheets have gone stiff, we drink tea and glue sniff" oughta be in all enthusiasts-of-the-bizarre's collections.

EWA BRAUN/GUERNICA Y LUNO Split 7"

I never realised Hitler's girlfriend had cut any discs, but there y'go. EWA BRAUN (from Poland) do a coupla' churny, swirly, atmos-laden numbers (inc. a GUERNICA Y LUNO cover), which put me very much in mind of SONIC YOUTH. Their flipside                 companions, GUERNICA Y LUNO (also from Polska) are of a similar, slightly more                        industrial nature. Their first track is an EWA BRAUN cover, which is my personal, most punky, fave.

FASTARD/OBSOLETE Wretched 7"EP                                                                            FASTARD go all concept on us, delivering a mere barrage of 5 tracks to held get that scuzz off yer oven - every one a delight of scariness and bellowing rage -they've got the edge on the in between sample bits too! Finnish contemporaries OBSOLETE pack a more brooding punch with their 2 tracks of satanic nihilism and de-tuned almost          death-metalish despair. I loikes this lot, too. Great fold-out sleeve -not enough of 'em these days. Far cheaper than a SYSTEM OF A DOWN CD and, believe me kids, way, way superior - you'll wet the bed without this.
