Vinyl LPs Reviews M-O MACHINE GUN ETIQUETTE Reality Check This rocks! I mean, it's really boot-up-da-botty punk (and boy, do I need that!). It's got the singalong choruses of the RANCID/NOFX brigade, with the guts of UK SUBS/RUTS and the tingle-factor of the UPSTARTS/CLASH. Kinda new-meets old and somewhere in between; 9 tracks from a very underestimated bunch o'Scottish punkers. I'm not sure if they're still going (this was recorded in 2000), but if not, I'm sure many of youse will be kickin' yersel (myself included) - a welcome hefty dose of melodic and hard-hittin punk whch never does any harm. Another release from the ever-cuddly Campary Records (Terminus, Naked Aggression, Oi Polloi, Bus Station Loonies) so you know you can't really go wrong. Cheaper than a SYSTEM OF A DOWN CD. MUFF POTTER Muff Potter What a band! Tuneful, tight and thumping! Easily the German version of LEATHERFACE and NOFX combined. Fantastic punk rock bop! Sung in Deutsch, & comes with a huge DEAD KENNEDYS-style booklet (also in German), but c'mon these songs'll make you get out'n'try to translate the lyrics, 'cos MUFF POTTER are tops! After all, punk = self-education! |
